UK Film Studies Courses

Introduction to Film Studies

Film Studies deals with theoretical, historical and critical approaches to film and explores the narrative, artistic, cultural, economic, and political implications of cinema. Students will spend time reading and writing about all types of film, discussing meaning and importance and the role of the audience, while also learning about the roles of producers, directors, screenwriters and actors. Hollywood, independent and experimental cinema will be covered.

Students will be able to select from a number of core modules which provide a core base to learning and provide a stepping stone to more advanced study in later years.
